We are deeply saddened to hear that UC Berkeley is going to provide space for Consul General of China Zhang Jianmin to speak on “US-China relations” on October 1, 2022. The uninformed might buy into the Chinese government’s false notion of goodwill and impure intention to “build relations” with members in the Berkeley community.
The HKAAB wishes to remind everyone of a handful of the uncountable instances that the Chinese government has neglected basic human rights and embarked on oppressive and inhumane missions, and alarm community members in the US of the potential whitewashing and misleading impact this Berkeley China Summit’s could bring.
United we stand against the CCP’s tyranny. Sign the petition to boycott the Berkeley China Summit and protest our students’ freedom from the CCP!
